OU’s Campus Corner keeps it predominantly local amid century of change

Campus Corner, which is right across the street from the University of Oklahoma and features more than 70 businesses, has been a popular destination for more than a century. Even in an era when chain businesses are increasingly prevalent across Oklahoma, Campus Corner still keeps it predominately local. The area features 10 corporate chain restaurants compared to four locally owned chain and 18 non-chain restaurants. “Have I gone mad? I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers!” These words from Lewis Carroll’s book “Alice in Wonderland” run through Miranda Stillings’ head daily. She lives with her dad, older brother, and about 130 stuffed animals, including two of her favorites, a collie named Laddie and a fox called Growlithe.
