Growing up, Kali Miller says she had everything that she desired. As she got older, she started to notice not everyone had the same privileges and lead her wanting to make a change.
Miller says she has wanted to change these unjust situations for a long time but didn’t exactly know how. She did know her passion for changing the world was growing stronger.
While Miller was attending Bartlesville High School, she decided to enroll in a journalism class, and to her surprise, she enjoyed the class.
“I found what I was good at and something I actually like, and I could actually make a career out of,” Miller says.
Since discovering journalism, she has wanted to make a career out of it while helping minorities get their voices heard.
Miller says she is tired of people being treated unfairly just because of their race, gender or their religion.
“I have a tool belt that holds my beliefs, my education and my power,” Miller says.
As a white American woman, Miller knows she has a chance to change the world, and she plans to do this by using her tool belt such as being able to educate people around her about problems in society.
